Episode 24 - I Definitely Finished February!

There are a lot of finished objects and a rant at the end. Also, NO editing!

Off the Needles/Hook

  • Habitation Throw by Helen Stewart - Curious Handmade - using my December Swap from Jen Study

  • CU Buffs Socks in Steampunk by Artistic Yarn by Abi. I started these for the Pigskin Party, then my team was awful, but we signed a new coach, and I finished these up. Nothing too special here - toe up, Fish Lips Kiss Heel and a folded cuff.

  • Hudson Bay House Slippers with Lion Brand Thick and Quick. I based these off the Turkish Bed Socks by Churchmouse Yarns and Tea, but I made a ton of modifications. And no, I won't publish them because it isn't my pattern to publish. Sorry, but all I really did was make them in the round, and no seaming on the sock.

  • Astra Cowl by Ambah O'Brien. I knit this up in a day and didn't even bother to take any photos. I simply wanted a cowl with some mohair, so I hit up Jimmy Beans Wool and ordered Berroco Ultra Wool DK in Cream and Maritime, and Berroco Aerial (mohair/silk) in Degas.

  • I FINALLY finished my Sassy Spirit Wrap (RAV link) by Megan Williams of the Stockinette Zombies video cast. This was on my needles like 11 months, and I love the finished object, but I just got stalled out. And again, no photos. I really should do something about that.

  • Arcade Shawl by Katy H Carroll (RAV link) aka Katinka Designs. I started this at the ZK retreat in 2022, and it was not even on my radar to complete in February. But once I had finished everything else, I dug into it. It turns out I was only 16 rows into the pattern, so there was a LOT of knitting to do, but it was a really nice project and good Lord do I LOVE Three Irish Girls yarn. This was knit up in Adorne Luxe Witches Brew and Tits Up! I could knit EVERYTHING in Tits Up!

WIPS

I'll admit it, I'm doing these notes days after recording, and I haven't a clue what I said were my WIPS.

Up Next: Make It March!

I have a slew of WIPS sitting around, so I think it is time to work on them! I hope not to be too distracted in February so that I can move on to more garments for the rest of the year!

Knit the good stuff, be nice to one another, and hey - relax a bit. Very few things in life are really worth getting that upset about. I promise.
